Now News Group reached out to the candidates to get their thoughts on the top issue facing the district, as well as their thoughts on the district's reopening plan and services they would like to see improved. What is the most important issue facing the Menomonee Falls School Board, and how would you address it? John Booher: Keeping our students engaged and eager to learn throughout school is critical to preparing them for the future. This starts with a focus on literacy for K4 through second grade, guaranteeing a strong foundation. In elementary school, students build on that foundation, adding math, science, arts and social studies. Middle school students start to learn critical thinking. High school provides opportunities for students to focus on their future path: college, military or the trades. At every step, our focus should be understanding what motivates each student and reinforcing students’ drive to learn. Keri Duce: The education of our students is always the most important issue facing the board, and I will prioritize policies and resources that support student success. Our strategic plan will focus resources on reading achievement and college and career readiness for all. We can provide individualized plans that allow teachers and families to monitor progress and leverage all of our district resources in the most efficient and effective ways. ![]()
